77th General Convention Preparations Continue for Delaware Deputation

The Delaware Deputation to the 2012 General Convention of the Episcopal Church met on January 17, 2012 at Saint Andrew's School to continue preparations for the 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church (July 5-12, 2012 - Indianapolis, Indiana).

"We are beginning to receive information on the work of the various commissions and agencies. This will help us to be better informed about the many pieces of legislation that will be considered," said the Rev. Brad Hinton, co-chair of the deputation.

One highly anticipated topic is the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music's proposal to provided rites for trial use for the blessing of same gender relationships. Their study materials can be found at right. Other timely topics will include the proposed Anglican Covenant and consideration of the structure and organization of the Episcopal Church. There's much work ahead that holds a great opportunity for the church.
