The work of the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware is funded from many sources, all of them based, ultimately, on the generosity of our churches, members, and friends.

Communications
Your tax-deductible contribution for communication will support:
- Our newspaper, the Delaware Communion, is mailed free to every household in the diocese and is also available on this website. Your donation will help cover what we pay Jen Mason to edit the publication, what we pay Danny Schweers to design the paper, plus what we pay for printing and mailing. That mailing also includes the National Episcopal Journal, a newspaper inside ours and which covers national and international issues.
- Our electronic newsletter, The Net, is emailed every week to clergy and subscribers from Bishop Wright, who always writes a few paragraphs. Click here for subscription details and how you can submit announcements.
- This website and other social media including Facebook. Your donation will help cover the 23 hours a month Danny Schweers spends maintaining our Internet presence, which includes updating pages on our website for churches in the diocese with no websites of their own as well as advising churches with websites when they encounter electronic difficulties.

We all remember the catastrophic earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010. Many do not realize the terrible cost paid by the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti.
The Diocese of Haiti has over 80,000 members, and the earthquake damaged or destroyed 70% of all Episcopal Church property. Schools, hospitals, clinics, and other ministries were gone in seconds. Now our help is needed to rebuild the church in the poorest country in this hemisphere.
Katharine Jefferts Schori, our Presiding Bishop has asked Episcopalians to join together in The Episcopal Church's "Rebuild Our Church in Haiti Appeal." Archbishop Desmond Tutu is lending his support to this critical project:
"We are all God's children and we must be one. For this reason I am proud of my sisters and brothers in The Episcopal Church who are joining as one to help their sisters and brothers in Haiti rebuild the church that has helped them endure such difficult times."
Gifts to the 2011 Bishop's Mission Fund will be used to help rebuild the Episcopal Church in Haiti. In addition, our own Diocesan Council has agreed to match the first $7,500 we receive. This will make every gift to the 2011 Bishop's Fund go even farther. Donations to the Bishop's Mission Fund can now be made online via credit card.

I have good news to share regarding the 2011 Bishop's Mission Fund. Early last month letters went in the mail requesting support from Episcopalians here in Delaware. As of today we have received gifts totaling over $7,000. This is a very good start.

Thank you for helping to "get the word out" so that everyone will be encouraged to meet such an important need. A word about the Mission Fund over the next few weeks during Sunday worship announcements will be appreciated. You may also want to write something in your newsletter or put a link on your website. Thank you again for your help.
